We kicked off our first Wellness Workshop last Sunday at Facilities Fitness, Newstead, with a great turnout of around 50 people, which was perfect for the combined indoor/outdoor space there.

In the first session of the day, the extremely talented Nirvana Pilkington took the reigns for acro yoga. We started with some connection and trust exercises, it was a great way to break the ice and to meet new friends within the group.

Nirvana explained the theories of bone stacking, pouring weight and meeting with even tension. We learnt the scoop mount into bird, and had plenty of laughs along the way!! We progressed our first lift slightly, working in threes for this, as we always had a spotter for safety.

Make sure you check out the pics below to see us in action during the acro session!!

Session two was an informative talk by the gorgeous Rachel Hawkins. Rachel is from The Naked Truth Australia and is a qualified dietician/nutritionist. After telling us her story and her history with food, Rachel went on to bust some diet myths and to talk about a popular diet at the moment, the keto diet. The Naked Truth Australia offers nutrition consults online (yay), media consultancy, workshops and recipe development. Keep an eye out on my blog for an interview with Rachel coming soon!

After a yummy morning tea catered by @missblissau I taught a few self releases with the Feel Good Spikey Ball. All attendees were treated to one of the balls in their goody bag. Don’t forget if you would like to learn more techniques with our Spikey Ball you can purchase our Feel Good Spikey Ball Program.

Mary-Louise Condon from @thecompoundinglab captivated the audience with her enthusiasm and energy. It is so hard not to be mesmerised by her when she speaks. Mary-Louise spoke about how The Compounding Lab can help to assess and treat our overall wellbeing. She spoke of heavy metals, minerals, hormones and eyebrows (hahaha). We were also informed about their fasting mimicking diet which is meant to be amazing for inflammation!! I have had a lot of you ask me about the Ogiloscan… keep an eye out in your inbox for a special offer from The Compounding Lab for those that attended the workshop. If you are not yet subscribed to The Feel Good Physio email list, you can sign up via the form at the end of this blog post.

I had to have Lachlan Stuart speak at this workshop… I have personally gained so much from his daily coaching and motivational words. If you don’t already, give him a follow @lachlanstuart

Lachie spoke of his struggle in the past as a young man, and his transition from life as a professional athlete. He spoke of core values and the importance of happiness and we discussed some tools we can all use to implement more happiness in our lives. You can check out my interview with Lachie also on this blog.

Thank you so much to all of you who supported and attended our first Wellness Workshop… We are already looking at a venue for the next event… so it’s in the pipeline!!! There are plenty of exciting things to come at The Feel Good Physio headquarters, so watch this space… enjoy the piccies below.
